Homebrew at a Wedding, how do I approach this?

Good Afternoon All, 2 months ago I got down on one knee and asked my lady an important question, she was silly enough to say yes to marrying me. We are now looking at wedding venues in the UK, and we want to have a homebrew bar. Thankfully we have a few interesting venues to look at. We...

Beaverdale Kit set running today Sauvignon Blanc

Only done the one beaverdale kit, didn't put in the stabliser before bottling. Was really warm about 6 weeks back in the UK for a full week, and all the corks popped as a result. Was a little disappointed, but still quite tasty. Shame they were very over carbonated as a result of not following...

Coopers Dark Ale, spolit while maturing?

Hello All, I have an issue with a Coopers Dark Ale that I started in May for my BBQ in 2 weeks time. Started 23rd May, used 500g dark spray malt + 300g normal sugar. OG came out at 1048 which I was very happy with. However the brew started with a problem, was using a bucket with a tap on it...

    Alcotec 48

I did a 20% spirit kit a few months back. One gallon came with a 600g pack of activated carbon. So that gives you an approx scale.

First brew snafu or rescue available ?

Sadly (or is that gladly) my budget and size of my bedroom stops AG brewing being possible. I don't think I could convince my parents to clear the shed for the purpose either. Each to their own I guess. So the results were as good as you wanted, and better than you expected :D :cheers...

    brew cupboard chilling ideas please?

I think what your really needing is something to keep the temp down when it gets too warm and the heat up when its too cold. So something that detects temp. - When too cold give power to the heater - When too warm give power to the cooler instead. Perhaps your fridge idea would help. Perhaps...

How did you come up with your handle & avatar

I had a similar experience than Samarith did. It came from MMORPG's. Was looking for a good name for my very first character on WoW, after an hour searching on dictiionary.com for something unusual I found Polymath. Sadly why i picked this name for a warrior (Runs around with a big sword and...

Supermarket juice wine - Apple, Peach, and White grape.

Aye i guess you don't want it too strong that she ends up on her back at the start of the evening instead of the end ;-) Oh and I like how your organising yourself, looks like a nice excel spreadsheet for your brewing. Good work!

    Which home brew kit

I like the Woodford's at the moment. I think they are good quality kits and taste good :D In the last year of brewing the only real difference I have found between a keg and bottling is time. It takes a lot longer to bottle 40 pints than to keg 40 pints. I also enjoy having my homebrew as a...

Bubba Keg - 12litre keg from ASDA. Anyone tried them?

Well thanks for the feedback guys, I don't think I will be buying one.As mentioned earlier, it would be better to pay another £5 and get a proper beer keg with pressure values and fluffy dice. Cheers all :D

Bubba Keg - 12litre keg from ASDA. Anyone tried them?

Hey guys, Was down ASDA today on the suggestion from a friend. They are selling these : http://direct.asda.com/Bubba-Keg-11.4-L ... lt,pd.html Seems quite good, nice size for taking to a party etc. Also with my beer brews coming to 23 litres, I could keg it into two of these fine creatures...

Has anyone used any spirt kits?

I have done some of the "alcoshot" ones in the past. Before I became a real homebrewer. They aren't bad. Stick it in a cupboard, add part A to Part B. Wait a month. Drink, become drunk, fall over. Rinse and repeat. Nothing sadly to write home about, didn't taste that good. Had to be partly drunk...

what happens if the gravity is too high when kegging ?

It just means its not finished converting sugar into alcohol. You will also get more of a build up of co2 when you put it into the keg. As long as its a good strong keg then there is no issues. Is this a plastic keg or a cornie? You might consider leaving it a few more days in the primary and...
