Using citric acid to condition stainless steel

Stainless will pit if exposed to an alkaline solution (do not use bleach on Stainless). To put the surface back to an acidic state you can use citric acid or any other acid to prevent corrosion. I use StarSan (either diluted or even just out of the bottle). see...

    Dishwasher to sanitise bottles?

I would think that the bottles would have to be clean already and that you must use the heat dry option to get them hot enough...I've also heard of people putting them in the oven as well

    Another Turkey Fryer question

No mine didn't have a timed switch but you did have to hold down the starting switch until the thermocouple got hot enough (usually only 5-10 seconds)....I would think you would be fine just replacing the bottle end valve connector.

    Another Turkey Fryer question

That is the same model I used for years back in the States...some tips: The pot is aluminium so it may cause some unwanted metallic flavours. Also there is a safety mechanism in the stand itself that won't allow the gas to flow unless there is a pot on the button...unfortunately if you have a...

After Mash… Are you a mixer or just a sprinkler ?

I usually do a mash out where I add hot water and stir to get the grain bed to 76 and then I sparge after letting that settle and vorlaufing it to set the grain bed again.

Looks like it could be good for a DIY stir plate

I used a cigar box for my build...I just went to a tobacconist and asked if they had any lying around. Worked great!

Priming a keg or using a cornie keg

Cornies have to have some sort of forced CO2 to properly seal otherwise you will end up with flat beer. With that being said, if you want to keg condition in a cornie all you need to do is exchange the dip tubes (ie the line in for the line out) and after filling with your primed beer give it a...

Columbus, Citra and Amarillo - recommend me a recipe

I don't have a recipe for using all 3 but I did make a belgian wit with citra back in June and it was great. Amarillo is very good in an American style IPA so a combination of using the columbus as a first addition and dry hop with amarillo would be a winner. Check this site for some ideas...

Educate me about non rinse cleaner please.

I don't use chemipro but I do use the same techniques for StarSan and had no problems...I know chemipro is a no rinse solution so as long as you are using the correct amount as describe by the manufacturer you should be good.

Do I really need a thermobox mash tun?

I would save the money for the shiny mash tun and invest it in something that really would save you time and effort like a pump or a corney setup or more grain to make beer with (as this is the end goal for everyone!)

Force carbonating...just can't get it right

I usually chill down the keg and then if I am in a hurry I set the reg to 30 psi, check for leaks, and then give the keg a good shake (remember to purge all the O2 out of the headspace first) and then set it to the desired carb pressure and put it back under refrigeration...it usually is ready...

help with filling a medical o2 cylinder

Yes it is common in the US to use O2 to aerate your wort. We use disposable red Benzomatic O2 tanks used for pipe work etc. But unfortunately they have been banned in the UK. So here is another option http://www.welduk.com/Results1.asp?Category=37. You will have to get the regulator as well...
