    Spring water

I have a spring locally that pumps crystal clear water out 365 days a year. I kit brew and have often wondered if I would get a better beer using this spring water. I have bottled some tonight and tested it with my aquarium water testers, pH is between 6 and 6.4, 0 chloride, general hardness is...

Am I the only one who doesn't like Wherry? Done 4 of them, not had a decent pint of it yet.

    Wherry query

How does beer go stale in bottles?

    Wilko's Golden Ale low ABV.

Put two of these kits on last night, mixed to 37.5 pints and OG 1044 for each at 20°c so will see what they ferment down to. Got them in wilkos sale so at £12.75 a shot 4% abv will be fine :-)

    Old boots pressure barrel

good buy, ive used 2 of these for years with no problems. priming gives enough carbonation to push beer out for quite a while and then i put a sparklet in. The original instructions recommend smearing the rubber O ring with glycerine to stop leaks.

HELP, real big problem now :(

If untapped certainly months probably years, its only like a big plastic bottle afterall & bottled beer last years. It would never happen in my house however :D

HELP, real big problem now :(

I agree & I only barrell when I have not got enough empty bottles, but the fact it's been barrelled anyway suggests the brewer is happy drinking it from a barrell & I think if left in the barrell for 4 months it will taste superb. If he bottled it now it runs the small risk of getting infection...

HELP, real big problem now :(

Sorry if I am being thick here, but what difference will there be in leaving a full barrell of beer to mature in the barrell than messing about with it & bottling? If it was me i'd stick a sparklet in the CO2 injector or inject the barrell & leave it. Putting it into bottles will give more...

    Wilkinsons

Has anyone experienced their local wilkos cutting back on their range of kits & equipment? Been in today, no brewing buckets, only 4 or 5 different kits, No Wherry & no Beer enhancer, pretty poor especially since my local brew shop has put his twin tin kits up to £23 & basic kits to £13-14 &...

    Brupaks Yorkshire First Gold

First time for the above kit, OG 1044 stuck now at 1012 is this what it should finish at (4.2%)? Tastes very nice even now :D Usually kits I do finish at 1010 so just checking before I bottle it. It has been 1012 for 2 days now, 10 days in ferment.

    Growing Hops from Seed

If you were to pick just one hop to grow what would it be & why? I am going to go over to the dark side soon & I am changing my back garden to grow more things I can eat or use & was thinking of using some space for hops

    Carbonating Edme Supergold German Lager

Mostly 500ml bottles with the odd 568ml chucked in. I will go for the 3/4 suggestions and if its flat I will hunt you down and make you drink flat Lager :D

    Carbonating Edme Supergold German Lager

Just fermenting my second batch of the above. Not really a lager drinker but the first batch was a decent pint. The only thing I noticed with the first brew was it cleared in the FV very quickly after fermentation stopped, so when it was bottled it was clear in the bottle within 2-3 days. I only...
