Thanks for the link. £14,800 avarage install ashock1 12% of all UK homes cannot have a system. Additional measures installed 93% of homes that had a heat pumps installed required at the replacement of at least one radiator. 81% of homes required a new thermal store, such as a hot water...

Therefore 15% do and these will no doubt be the ones with no room for a water tank and with radiators and pipesthat are not up to the job, the price is also going to put many off.

As has been discussed several times houses in cold countries are designed to keep heat in and cold out our houses (especially old ones) are not good at doing that even with extra insulation.

    Russia vs UK

When i talk to people at work it would seem the majority are not happy with heir lot, most hate the Tories due to what they have done over the last 14 years, lack of wages rises and the high cost of living seem to be the main reasons, if we had a similar pie chart we would get anywhere near the...

Ukraine: Russia has launched 'full-scale invasion'

That is where we have to draw the line we cannot get directly involved with troops on the ground or we will be heading for WW3

    Muntons Smugglers: kit vs AG

    Mead from the grainfather

The confusion set in when you said " i bought myself a grainfather g30 to try my hand at mead" we thought you bought it just to make mead. You are correct you dont "need" an all in one to brew beer you can make it without as they did all those years before they were invented but they do make...

I cannot see anyone giving up their wood burners and i dont blame them, people are *not choosing to move to HP's they are being forced. *obviously some are choosing but the majority of us will be forced as the option to use gas boilers will be removed.
  17. Chippy_Tea

    Heat Source Pumps.

And there is the problem installing these things is not as simple as swapping a gas boiler its going to mean a huge upheaval and expense for many, the water tank will be one of the biggest problems the olds here will remember the big copper water tank in the airing cupboards back in the day and...

    Heat Source Pumps.

This is another thing that will put people off (see video) There are going to be installers springing up all over the place as HP's become popular these installers will have little knowledge built up over time so i fear we are going to end up with cowboy companies springing up installing the...

    Heat Source Pumps.

This is the problem views on these things swing from brilliant to a complete waste of time no one has any confidence, i certainly dont want to replace all radiators and piping throughout the house (mine is very small diameter) and in a 2 up 2 down i have no where to put a huge water tank, as...

Also for the days in winter when you haven't got enough heat being produced to keep the house warm and make hot water for bathing etc. I will not install a heat pump until i have no choice, at my age that will probably never happen.
