Hydrometer readings stable at 1.010 for 3 days so I bottled with half a teaspoon of sugar in each bottle. I've now got 37 bottles I'm going to put away till Christmas. Had a quick taster of the last half pint in the bottling bucket and it's rather nice already :)

I put my first kit on two weeks ago and I'm gonna bottle it today and save it for Christmas :)

I use the safety bungs in mine but have never managed to let the wine mature for more than 3 months before it gets drunk.

I've been using the wine boxes from Amazon too. They're good for 3 or 4 refills. I'm about to order a few more as I've got a 30 bottle kit nearly ready for bottling.

After mainly brewing kit wines, TC and WOW's, I finally got a Wherry kit on the go this morning :D

Our local ALDI has only WGJ at the moment.

I'm drinking a few pints of my On the rocks cider that is just about drinkable after 3 months in the keg.

I just picked up one of these in the Wilko's sale for £18 :)

I made a Cellar 7 Cabernet Sauvignon and that turned out really dark and fruity like a true red wine.

I'm going to try some Sodium Metabisulphite. Thanks for the help.

I've just ordered a bottle squirter and bottle tree drainer to hopefully make my homebrew life easier. But what I want to know is, which steriliser would be best suited for the job? I assume it needs to be a no rinse type. Suggestions please.

It was a light orange colour. Slightly darker than the standard WOW.

My best is pineapple and red grape juice.

Having brewed this kit a little short (25 bottles), the taste is really fruity. Will be brewing another one soon.

I've just bottled the hooch into 2x 2 litre lemonade bottles. Decided to back sweeten it as it was a bit on the sour side. Had a pint that didn't go in the bottles and although it was flat, it tastes great. Will need to brew more for the summer as I don't think it will last long.

That's good news as our local shop is selling Manns brown ale at 89 pence each :)
