    Im back... 11 Year hiatus.

Returning to the hobby of home brewing after an 11-year hiatus is an experience that almost feels like reuniting with an old friend. If the friend was a angry wasp. For me, dusting off my brewing kettles and looking to dive back in poses some questions i might of missed within the hobby. How...

Can I use a fridge in my garden shed?

Unsure really I mean mines only got silver backed bubble wrap insulation around it as in the shed. but it keeps it a steady temperature. My fridge still works and it's been there for 4 months now.

What's the best type of keg

You do need the keg, a co2 regulator with a pressure relief valve on, a sankey fitting, a special sankey keg with the anti tamper spear removed so you have remove it at home. There are a few more gadgets you need like a cleaning station.

What's the best type of keg

I have uses sankey kegs that pubs use, I have used casks and corny kegs. I prefer sankey kegs if you have a big budget. Corny kegs for ease of use and holds the right amounts. I had to do bigger brews in my sankey kegs and casks. Beer engine + cask + cask widge was easy to setup also...

Making my own primary fermenters :)

Unsure of the pressure as it's a fermenting ting bucket but the lid bulges and excess co2 escapes out of the unsealed side. Never had one blow up or the whole bucket bulge. The taps I get from online if I need a few or my local HBS. I try to get the taps that look like this...

Making my own primary fermenters :)

None of my buckets have air locks I just leave lid on tight on 1 side and a gap on the other. However I drill holes in all of them for taps. I use a 25mm wood hole bit from wilkos and taps with Teflon into them.

Clearing doesn't bother me if it tastes good I'll drink it. Ginger beer has authenticity about it when cloudy.

    Fiery Ginger Beer

Cinnamon is a yeast killer. Too much and your kill the yeast everytime. Unfortunately if you can't get it started its down to too much cinnamon. :(

    Previous brewer returning.

I told him I'd be running 2 x 2kw elements for upto 2 hours and a temperature controller for keeping the shed a stable temp. He said he would put something adjacent to my sockets in the kitchen near the wall. Drill through the wall, put armoured cable running across my fence and then into my...

    Previous brewer returning.

Can anyone explain how you can brew using just 1 vessel without biab? False bottom have something to do with it? Or is that just for hops? I'm pricing up equipment and wondering whether I should go for the option with 1 brew vessel or the one with 3 but I need to pay for the extra 2 and then...

So what do we think of this?

The price doesn't bother me as your paying for convenience of having an all in one. It's more does it do what it says. Ill probably buy one anyway to try it out when they released.

So what do we think of this?

But with conicals you usually get you beer from a tap above the taper right? So trub stays and beer flows?

So what do we think of this?

Looks great but what I can't understand is you beer will be sat on the trub and/or the Lees until you have drunk it all? Looks good but don't seem to ship to UK :( would love to try one.
