    Twopoint Brewdays

Mountain IPA taste test. Not cared up properly yet but still a very drinkable pint. Huge citrus/tropical fruit aroma. Not as bitter as I was expecting but very well balanced. Needs to carb up a bit before I give it another go. A real sunshine beer, this one won't last long!

Saison taste test. Very very funky vibes from this one. Clean tasting with a fruity bitterness, light mouthfeel. Needs to be a cooler, I just tried at at 10c, will be dropping to 7c.

    Home Made Pressure Fermenter

I like that idea. I've got two of those fermenters I mostly use for wine/cider. Just looked online and you can get solid caps for those fermenters for about £4 each too.

If you were starting again what would you buy?? Beer-kit brewing

For kit brewing I'd recommend a couple of buckets with good fitting lids, have a grommet hole to add a bubbler or a tube into a jar of starsan. Have the buckets fitted with bottling taps. A decent electronic thermometer - glass is too fragile. The biggest improvement I'd go for is a fermenting...

Kit Cider #1 I usually just throw 16 1.5l cartons of Lidl Apple juice in with a Mangrove Jacks M02 Cider yeast. Comes out dry and fruity, very well compacted yeast cake and crystal clear. Trying a MJ Mixed Berries kit with their cider enhancer kit. Will keg 12l of it and bottle the rest.

    Sparge Water Temp.

I use a Karlstein All in One. I get my strike temp with the maximum the kettle can hold, treat the water as a whole, then draw off 8 to 10 litres and keep in a bucket. When it comes to sparging I then boil a kettle (household 2L one) and dump that in the bucket that I put to 8 to 10 litres in...

First Klarstein Brew Days - 3 Brews

Cracked open a Route Citra Six - crisp, citrus with a nice back bite of bitterness. A total result. I bottled up in 1L bottles so two very nice pints. Got a bit of a taste on so stuck a Velveteen Stout in the freezer for 10 mins. Great head - nice and thick. Mouthfeel was medium body, first...

First Klarstein Brew Days - 3 Brews

Finally got around to finding the time to get the new Klarstein up and running. Started the week with a standard run of the mill Wherry that I'd had lying around for a quite come time - pitched it with some standard Wilco ale yeast. Sunday was brew day. For my first few recipes I thought I'd...
