    How to make Turbo Cider.

Here's my take on TC. After many attempts and good results, here's my keeper: Using a 10l plastic water bottle.. 9½l 100% AJ, from the shop. ½l tea - 6 tea bags absolutely stewed 310g table sugar dissolved in warmed up stewed tea Lalvin QA 23 yeast. Half a sachet 2.5g Tsp yeast nutrient...

Umm. Right.. Is anyone up for a football thread?

Gary Sprake. The best keeper Leeds had. David Harvey was excellent too. Sprake isn't fondly remembered at Leeds. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/oct/20/gary-sprake-obituary

This isn't gonna work. How about if we change it to your favourite TyPhoo tea card players?

Umm. Right.. Is anyone up for a football thread?

Ok then.. Mick. I think we all remember when we were all Sunderland supporters that great Cup Final day. I watched the recent Sunderland Till I Die documentary intermittently. I couldn't bear to watch episodes all at once.

Umm. Right.. Is anyone up for a football thread?

Lads Let's keep this as fun and respectful as possible. We can do it!

I've been following Man City since 1968, so a bit of a Stockport glory hunter really. I also support human right's abuses and anything else you'd like to aim at City. I dunno. Anyone? I'm guessing we're gonna have to keep this to the one thread ;-)

    Challenges of brewing in Finland

Thanks for the interesting replies, chaps. No room in the cellar unfortunately for a chest freezer. Our lock up down there is just 1½m square. However..! Miraculously we've just been given another one yesterday in the pitch dark area down there which is around 18 deg! Talk about co-incidence or...

    Challenges of brewing in Finland

Hi Foxbat. Yes, I could get a second fridge, but that's no use for the long-term quantities. How many bottles of beer can you get, standing up in any fridge?

    Turbo cider.

Cheers buddy. The weather here? I'm guessing Micheal Fish would have put it this way: "Over in Finland, the weather is still ******* ****. It was just starting to warm up a bit last week but then, 2 days ago it snowed again, rained, then froze. So, if you're planning to go out again, my advice...

    Another teenager dead.

The problem is not knives, it's education. Of course it is. Real, essential education begins at home and role models within the family and community. I was a teacher and I loved all my kids (oo-err!), but I can't tell you the amount of times I saw great, brilliant kids fail because of pure peer...

    Help buying new guitar

Maybe a bit late.. The Harley Benton / Thomann guitars these days are amazing. My son's mate just got a Telecaster knock-off from them for about 140€. In all honesty, there's not much between it and my beloved 80's Fender. I swapped out the strings and set the bridge up and it sounds and plays...

British IS schoolgirl 'wants to return home'

Lads, lads. A 15-year-old girl. I'm pretty sure she has a different outlook on the world after what's she's been through.

Oh man! Chippy! You've made my day with that pic mate. Those cowhorns.. Could be us at the local bonks, Stockport 1973. Lad #2 looks cool! Good for him.

    Challenges of brewing in Finland

Hi Leon. I do that for the last week, but it's not practical for dozens of litres of beer. I'm aiming for a 3-month conditioned rolling stock. I am storing in the cellar where the temp is around 19c and dark. Cheers

    Turbo cider.

Thanks Banbeer. It was the airlock. Swapped it out, gave it a shake and it went fine. Starting to clear up now and will rack it next week.

    Challenges of brewing in Finland

Hi all Just thought I'd post this and see what you think.. One of the things I really love about this place is the quality of heat insulation in every building. We live in Helsinki in a 75m2 flat that's 50 years old now, but I can sit here year round in a t-shirt and shorts with the radiator...
