    Cheers jonny, That's what I hoped. I've turned the fridge to the highest temp which I think isn't too far off cellar. Perhaps 9 or 10 (it's old and not very efficient). Thanks for your reply. ETSW

    Just to update this: Fermentation did indeed get off the ground. Was/is slow but very much alive. Temp has been at 18C since my last post. Difficult to get it lower. ETSW
