    Cider shed discovery !

Killing the yeast would result in flat cider. you could use artfical sweetener. The yeast can't metabolise it so the yeast can make it fizzy using priming sugar you add as normal, and stop when its all gone. The cider stays sweet as the sweetener is untouched by the yeast and you don't get...

    Cider shed discovery !

My advice would be to add anything that has sugar in it to the glass you drink it out of, or it may kick off fermentation. Sorry if I am stating the obvious but I would hate for you to create bottle bombs.....

The real headwetta in 2 parts...

Hell yea! I normally just use different hops to dry hop or add hop tea. So when the idea came to me to use drak grain to give what appeared to be a totally different beer instead of a marginally different beer it was a no brainer! And it should appeal to most of my work mates who like dark ales!

The real headwetta in 2 parts...

I just pitched my yeast. Gervin v12 in the dark ale and safale us05 in the pale. Looks like they are going to be belters for celebrating with. The pale is looking like 22L of 6.7 The dark is 15L of 5.9. Just setting up the 'water bath' for the fermenters then a quick wipe down before work.

The real headwetta in 2 parts...

Into the main body of the wort I have put in 7g of cascasde and citra hop pellets and 20g of NZ pacific Gem. This is now heating on the stove. In the small pot of First runnings I have put 4g of cascade hop pellets.

The real headwetta in 2 parts...

Just got an overnight mash on. The aim of this brew is to end up with one golden ish beer and one dark beer. I am aiming to get 38L from the main mash/boil. To get the dark beer I am adding a steeped mixture of 200g of crystal and 30g of chocolate to one fermenter. 8kg of maris otter 600g of...

    One brew 2 beers....

Cheers Beermarker It looks like I am doing the same as your first AG Clibit. Dont suppose you remember what grains you used for the dark part, how much of them and how much water? And you OG..... I know I am probably asking a lot there! Just wondering.... I am slightly worried about ending up...

    Eliminating Sediment in bottles

At the risk of stating the obvious, it the problem is pouring a 750ml bottle into 2 different glasses and stiring up the yeast cake.............use a jug and pour into each glass. Otherwise its filter, force carb, then bottle, like the beer you buy in the super market.

    citra and casscade pale

Its a win win situation! Just a quick update. Having bottled and left these beers for a little bit (probably not long enough but never mind) these beers are both tasting great. They are supprisingly different. I have dry hopped before but putting in a larger amount that before and leaving them...

    One brew 2 beers....

Anyone got any thoughts? Its basicly a standard all grain brew but with 2 different additions to the different fermenters. In one fermenter I am thinking 200g of dark crystal and 50g of chocolate as these don't seem to need mashing (http://www.homebrewtalk.com/wiki/index.php/Malts_Chart) These...

    Cider shed discovery !

The whole idea behind brewing is to get a source of 'clean drinking water' as the alcohol should stop any dangerous bacteria growing. Get it drank...... Maybe slowly to start with though.....
