Adding Bittering and Aroma Hops to Geordie Lager

I thought you get better utilisation if you boil hops with wort? I still want it to be fairly light bitterness and aroma wise but the kit as is tastes pretty much of sod all. BKE is Beer Kit Enhancer.

Adding Bittering and Aroma Hops to Geordie Lager

Hi All, Bit of a noob question even though I've been brewing for a while. I'm doing a Geordie Lager kit again soon, and I want to ramp up the flavour. Bear with me, I know it's quite a plain, low grade kit BUT... I got the kit cheap, and I want to add 1KG BKE and 500g light DME + bittering...

    Wilko Starter Kit Cabernet Sauvignon

Hi all, I hope this is allowed... I've delved into the world of HBW videos. My first kit for this venture is the wilko cab sauv kit. Please have a look and feel free to comment, like and subscribe for more. Next upload is bottling, followed by a taste test...

    Conditioning in Corny

I understand how to prime, I'm more interested in conditioning the beer. Will it condition better at room temperature or in the fridge? I could force-carb it now and it would be fizzy but would the taste be better after conditioning at room or lower temps?

    Conditioning in Corny

Hi all. Quick question... I've just kegged a coopers cerveza and I'm just wondering what to do. Should I put a bit of pressure on to seal and purge then leave it where it fermented at approx 20c or can I put it in the fridge under co2? I'm not in a hurry to drink it but if I'm not...

    Simple ale from lme/kit

Thanks that sounds good. I could probably add a bit more bitterness if you say that the APA isnt particularly bitter.

    Simple ale from lme/kit

I haven't got the original packaging that had the AA info on it. This isn't ideal but is there just a hard and fast method for my 75g of pellets and the APA? I will most likely make to 20L with 1kg of the most appropriate bk enhancer. I like the idea of taking 3L out and doing a boil...

    Simple ale from lme/kit

That sounds good. Have I got enough pellets with 75g? What quantities should I use for each addition? I'm guessing each phase is slightly different, first for bittering, last for aroma? I do tend to brew to 20L.

    Simple ale from lme/kit

Hi all. I want to get another ale on the go at the moment. I've got some citra hop pellets (about 75g) sat in the freezer and they've been there for 6 months +. Is there a basic kit or unhopped lme I can use to do make a light/medium tasting ale with a slight bitterness? I've never done a...

    All Grain DIY Kit

So in this method of brewing, you get your water to the desired temperature, mash in and then just let the temp fall?

    All Grain DIY Kit

Hi All, I'm sure this has been discussed at length but prices in the past may be different to what they are now. I've been brewing beer for a few years now but only from kits, tweaking here and there as you do. My question is simple but the answer may be complex. How much, in your...

Reliable but cheap apple cider recipe needed

I'm hoping someone can answer this as I wondered too.

Reliable but cheap apple cider recipe needed

Hi all, I like a good cider every now and again. I've found a kit that produces a very acceptable drink, Bulldog Premium Cider Kit - Perfect Apple. I brew this to 20L and I've found it's best bottled. It is however, quite expensive (around 25 quid). Is there a simple recipe I can use to...

    Advice for pressure barrel priming

Hi all, I've got a tom caxton real ale in fv and I'm wondering how to get my desired amount of carbonation. I like my ale on the flatter side. Not totally flat as a witches... but like cask ale. I don't like the carbonation levels of a lot of bottled supermarket ales as they seem too fizzy...

Can I use a big bottle of co2 to charge king keg?

Well that's the thing. I've got a cylinder and 4 bar regulator so I'm just wondering if the fittings exist. Or if anyone else has done it successfully.

Can I use a big bottle of co2 to charge king keg?

Hi all At a bbq, an idiot friend of mine neglected to turn the hambleton bard bottle off on my keg and wasted the lot. I've since then got myself a large co2 cylinder and I'm wondering if it's possible to top a king keg with an s30 valve up with it? I just don't know what to buy in order...

Cooper's Mexican Cerveza + Dry Hops

I've asked this question before but I'm just wondering if anyone could suggest a better yeast to do this kit with. The kit yeast seems to always lift off the bottom of the bottle far too easily and there's too much wastage for my liking. I want a least that I can brew around 18c with as I...

Cooper's Mexican Cerveza + Dry Hops

Everything pretty much dropped out to the bottom. Maybe there were slight traces of hop pellet left on top but I've ended up with a clear bottled beer :)

Hey, I batch primed with a dissolved dextrose syrup at 8g per litre of beer!

King Kegs - Flat as a fluke

I think one of the problems is that it sits around 17C under the stairs. I've just opened the little window in hopes that it will get cooler but if not I'll start a kegerator project soon. Luckily the brews I've put in the kegs are ok at low levels of fizz but I thought that you could get...
