    Conditioning question

In warm for 2 weeks then move to somewhere cooler to complete conditioning. Garage or shed should be fine although I moved mine to the loft last night as it is really getting cold up here.

plastic flavour off my admirals reserve

It could be. A quick google of off flavours brought this up Chlorophenol Tastes/Smells Like: Plastic, Vinyl, Iodine Possible Causes: Using chlorinated tap water to brew or rinse equipment is the most common cause for plastic-like or medicinal flavors. Medicinal flavors can also be the result...

Ritchies Festival Pride of London Porter Review

Did this as my third kit and really couldn't be simpler. Good instructions come with the kit and it really is as simple as adding the pouches to some boiling water, mixing well, topping up with cold and pitching the yeast. The only new thing to me was the dry hopping but again that is really...

    What Light Ale Kit ??

Looking for some recommendations for a nice light ale kit to brew. Only started brewing a few weeks ago and currently have an IPA that has been bottled conditioning for last 3 weeks, a dark ale that was bottled on Friday and a Festival Pride of London Porter sat in my FV at the moment. My plan...

    Coopers Website Dark Ale Recipe

Knowing my luck quite a lot. I think I'll just stick to the original recipe for now and see how it turns out. Then I can maybe start tweaking it a bit in the future. As for dry hopping I wouldn't know where to start. I'll do a bit of reading and file that one for future use as well. Cheers...

    Coopers Website Dark Ale Recipe

Looking for a bit of advice on the recipe (see below) for dark ale on the Coopers website. I have a can of the DME (1.5kg) and was wondering if I could get away with using the full can and leaving out the sugar as I don't want the other half to go to waste. New to all this so any help or advice...

NOT adding boiling water to kit

That's a good tip Vossy although I was told, maybe incorrectly, that you had to use boiling water for the extract to help sanitise it.

NOT adding boiling water to kit

I brewed my first batch of beer on Sunday and had the same problem - I had to let it cool for a few hours before pitching the yeast. For my next batch I am going to put most of the water in the fridge first to chill and then add some ice if needed when I'm topping up the FV. You should maybe try...

    Bottling Coopers Australian Pale Ale

Be interested in any replies to this. I am currently brewing a Coopers IPA and will be using the carbonation drops that came with my starter kit. I was told to use one drop per 500ml bottle for this brew. I also bought a can of the APA and that will be my next brew and will be using sugar for...

    Hello

Hi , my name is Barry and I'm finally going to give this home brewing lark another go after a few miserable attempts when I was younger - don't think I had the patience back then. I'm a big fan of real ales and think my 1st dabble will be with the coopers Dark Ale. Looking forward to getting...
