Instructions and advice for first fermentation fridge build please

This thread has been very useful. I'm in the same situation and was going to go in all drills blazing to the side of my £10 fridge. I didn't know they had drain holes! Thanks all

    All in one BIAB system

It was more the concept of BIAB that I meant rather than the actual use of a bag.

    All in one BIAB system

Looked at the Grainfather vs Robobrew video and it looks good. The Grainfather has a better control unit but they are pretty equal in other areas. Perhaps the control unit coupled with the slightly more accurate thermometer (slightly) warrants the extra cost? There are a few other I have see...

    All in one BIAB system

Hi everyone, What is the popular consensus on the best all in one BIAB system, including circulation facility and grain basket kinds stuff? I know the Grainfather seems like a favourite. What's the best Grainfather, I can see the connect for £675 which is really stretching my budget! I've...

    Anybody in/near Peterborough

Also the freezer if you reckon it would fit in the back of a BMW 1 series :)?

If nobody turns up for these, I can come any day over the weekend or next week for the barrels?

    Klarstein maischfest 25L

I have for sale a 25L Klarstein mash/boiler. This has been used once and comes with grain basket and grain basket holder thing. Does not come with wort chiller. I have used this once. Reason for selling is because it's on the small side for 23L brews or big ABV brews. Plus I have a few bits to...

    Brew kettles

Thanks that's great. The boiler is nice, although I really should have bought the larger one! Heats up quickly and maintains temperature nice. Boil is vigorous but if you switch to half the wattage you get a nice rolling boil with 25L. For the price, I am happy!

    Brew kettles

Hi, eBay were offering 10% off purchases over £50. Not sure if was specific to that day or the weekend or what. Code was PLEASED if I remember correctly!

    Brew kettles

I've bought it, £130 all in. Ebay had a 10% off voucher! The only thing is, it's coming from Germany so may take a while :(

    Brew kettles

Think I'm going to go for that Klarstein today. In theory I could fit a pump from the tap to circulate during the mash. Not sure how effective this actually us though.

    Brew kettles

At the moment I'm using one of those pre made Electrim mashing/boiling bins. I have two issues: It's too small for a 23L brew unless you sparge heavily It doesn't reach a good boil unless the lid is on and you're indoors and then you get condensation leaks from the lid Oh, and it takes 40...

    Brew kettles

Hi all, Can anyone explain the difference in something like the two suggestions above versus something like a bulldog that is around £300 more? Is it just the volume and the pump/circulation things?

    coopers bottles

I've got 8 boxes of Cooper's bottles, every single one has been fine. I would sort that refund out. I'm a big fan of Cooper's stuff, the gateway brand for brewing.

    BIAB AG #3 Gobble Goblin

Just finished a great brewday! Cheered me up after Derby lost to Forest... now I read that Clough has been sacked. Not sure how I feel! Anyway, got me 22L of 1.048 wort. Pitched Nottingham yeast @ 24oC. Everything went to plan. The first time I've used such dark malts, looked great, like a...

    BIAB AG #3 Gobble Goblin

At the moment, I'm not sure what I'm doing regarding the sparge. I just take my bag out, let it drain then transfer it to a kind of big sieve mesh over a bucket and slowly pour 10L of water at 74-77 celsius over the top, collecting the runnings. I've currently worked out that using this method...
