Festival beer kit syphon filter question

my amber ale & oak rum are still fermenting so i've not tried them. i've brewed the APA & that has to be the best kit i've done so far. it was at its best around the three month mark. i had a sample of the IPA at my lhbs & that was very nice as well quite similar to the APA only a bit stronger...

    Youngs American Amber Ale

i never stirred my yeast in either, it'll be fine. have a peep inside to see if theres any foam (krausen) on the wort. i bet your using the 5 gallon youngs fermenter, i have two, ones a 5 gallon & the other is a 6 gallon. the 6 gallon has a good seal but the 5 gallon one dosen't seal very...

    Wherry

about 14 days, but as with all fermentations there's nothing written in stone. i've had wherries ferment for over 3 weeks, the only sure way of telling when its done is by taking hydrometer readings

thanks coups, it does smell very nice. mines on day 3 now & its bubbling away nicely. these youngs kits seem to be real quality. i've done the apa & that is the best kit i've done, & i put the amber ale on the same time as the oak rum. i'll be doing the ipa next after tasting a sample at my...

    First brew done

it'll need 2 weeks in the warm to carbonate, then move it to a cooler place to condition (the longer the better). with it being your first brew you'll be drinking it too early (hell we all did). the trick is to get as many brews done so as you have plenty of stock to get well conditioned. good...
