    Re: St Peters Cream Stout

LOL my Mrs said that however she doesn't drink so I'm quite lucky! I didn't check to be honest mate just left it for 5 days then got it off the sediment now kegging it. The St Peters kits are always stable so the 1014 isn't impossible, if you leave it long enough it should get somewhere near...

    Re: St Peters Cream Stout

You didn't jump the gun at all mate, it's just one of those things. The chocolate taste at the end really reminded me of chocolate brazils! I think it will mellow out over time for you, my guess it will be good for you after a month :) if you can wait that long?? I personally am struggling...

    Question regarding water types?

I'm not joking I seriously have gone through 2 kettles this year LOL.. And that's using de-scaler.I use ASDA 1 gallon bottles because they come in handy as a demijohn, £1.10p each all you have to do is drill a 10mm hole in the top.

    Question regarding water types?

Our water is pretty bad I seems the closer to ipswich you get the worse it is lol, I have a filter jug and a filter kettle. I just used plain old Ipswich tap water for my creamy stout tonight so will see how it goes.

    Question regarding water types?

Ok I will try to condense but my question is this, When brewing do you guys use tap or bottled water? I tend to use bottled myself as I live in Ipswich terrible hard water! The reason I ask is because I'm worried that tap water could change the end product. Has anyone had any issues with tap...

    Banana Wine, Massive hit :)

This Video should do you just fine, I hope it helps plus there are many charts in the internet that shows you the exact mathematics behind hydrometer readings. Well I suppose its more scientific LOL Whatever, here's the video. [urlhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GTvmYaQq6Mc][/url]

    Banana Wine, Massive hit :)

Yes this is true, sugar wasn't as refined back in the days. When using recipes from way back it is always advisable to use a hydrometer! At least you can control the end result.

    First Brew!.....

The strip thermometer I use is very accurate I got mine from youngs brew equipment, I also have a secondary old style thermometer attach to the wall to check ambient temp, Invest in a different strip. There is no guarantee that the one you got isn't faulty.
