    Growing hops, recommendations?

    I don't think hops rhizomes like to be dug up. I believe you could try insulating (spellcheck keeps changing to insulting!) them over winter, maybe with a layer of compost? I have just started growing fuggles, goldings and challenger in London - they are reputed to dislike clay waterlogged soil...

    To be honest it could have been sanitised at a separate point. Also i like to run my water 12 hours before a brew to ensure all the fluorine has evaporated and then add extra unboiled water (from the tub in question? ) to my boiled out wort to correct the OG. So there are a bunch of places...

    Strange. I did a brew a month back and bottled it about 10 days ago. My brew length was 45 litres so I split fermentation between 2 25 litre plastic tubs. I left it about 3 weeks before bottling. The first tub was great fully fermented 1.012. The second was odd it was also fully fermented...

    I'm no sparky but I use the basic rule of thumb that I can't run more than 1300 watts off a double power socket so... 1300w / 240v = 5.4A maximum

    How to use the Tesco Value kettle heating element

    NB these kettle elements require 45mm hole (they used to do them in 40mm) so you need to be tooled up! I have to unspam my postings.....

    Hi I have been a member for a few years (omg!) but only just started posting. I've been AG brewing for 3 or 4 years now and am on the verge of upgrading from plastic cool box mash and lauter tuns to thermo pots. Cheers Jim :cheers:
