Really nice beer that, my own personal favourite is Thrappledouser.

It's film like, almost like an oil slick on water, you can see it on the photo and that's probably about the closest thing I can compare it to. I've gently moved the top layer and it seems as though it is only on the very surface as the rest looks clear.

Hi all I've got an American Pale Ale which I've made using an extract kit in the FV just now. It's been in there for about 10 days and the hydrometer readings are still going down but the top looks completely different from the other brews I've done (only 2!) so no idea if anything's wrong or...

Not studying up before hand I wasn't keeping track of temperature. It's been stored in an internal room with no sunlight so does sound like an issue with the yeast from what you're saying. Bugger. Ah well, on to the next, means I don't have to buy more bottles at least!!!
