Hello Chippy_Tea, yes,it was the ribena cordial... it is still bubbling away, about once every 15 secs. temp is steady at 22c. regards chris

Hello and thanks for the replies... with regards to the sugar, yes i did dissolve the sugar in a simmering pot of water before adding to the mix. I also let the yeast soak in luke warm water, then a gentle stir, before adding to the demijohn hoping that this would then avoid the clumping issue...
