Depends what style of beer your brewing as different styles call for different treatments. Also water treatment wont make much difference if other things are not spot on Such as mash temp pitching temp ferment temp. So make sure all those are in order first. But I could be wrong as it has been...
I have been away from brewing for 2 years. Will all my grains/liquid yeast etc still be OK to use. Only ask as I seem to be out of touch with brewing best practices and brewing has apparently changed in the last two years. So will it be ok to use 2 year old ingredients in this brave new modern...
and you have won how many awards for brewing?????????? Oh well it would seem you just cant help some people. Oh and they used wild yeasts many moons ago for brewing. In other words they let it get infected. Just like those Sour Belgian beers brewed by those lovely Monks. But what do I know. I...
If a beer gets too cold you get what is known as Chill Haze. I would not rush the ferment on the other beer if you ferment too high you will produce off tastes in the end product. One golden rule in quality brewing is patience so I would put the Easter brew off for a week or find a constantly...
Spot on. Transferring to secondary is best practice. The Co2 from the fermentation to some degree will help to lessen any chance of infection but one fermentation has slowed/ceased then you can start to get problems from the microbes greys talks of.
Greys is spot on 24 is to high. Best thing would have been to bin the yeast that came with the kit there ****. If you pitch the yeast at to high a temp you will get off tastes in you beer. You could even shock the yeast and kill it completely.
Your best bet would have been to scrap the yeast that comes with the kit and use Safeale SO4 or Nottingham yeast. 18 degrees is a little low and would mean a slow ferment so the chances are you might not notice and just because thats what the house thermostat say's does not mean where the...
Well if this site is now a commercial venture I do not want them using my recipes for commercial gain without my permission. I would also appreciate access to my recipes so I can at least make copies incase I decide to stop using this new forum.
I would like to know that too. All my recipes were in there and now I have no way of getting to them. Not happy about that. In fact there is quite a lot about this new site I'm less than happy with:twisted::twisted::twisted:
Hi Phil.
Not sure if you have a beer supermarket/wholesaler near you but I used to get mine from Beer's of Europe in Kings Lynn. Paid a two pound fifty deposit which was refundable if and when crates were returned.
Mick.
Hi Kev. Sorry for delay in replying but having a job finding time for everything at the moment.
These are the taps. thirty quid the pair.
They are heavy taps so not sure how much postage would be.
Mick.
I know I havn't been around for a while but IS IT ME??????.
Trying to post pics in a for sale post and cant get a direct link to work from Photo bucket then anything typed after adding the Pound symbol just doesn't appear.
Anyone else having problems. If I use the pound symbol anything typed after using the shift key (to get the pound symbol) appears in the post preview but is not then posted to the forum post??????????? it can't be the shift key as question marks and brackets appear ?? (like so).
