Adding grain to wine to increase body, but how?

I'm making some Victoria plum wine with 8kg of fruit. In his book CJJ Berry says it can be thin and to add a lb of grain, but that's about all. So I got some Wheat malt, it's all chipped up in a bag and I poured some boiling water on to soften it and will leave it overnight. Do I need to do...

    How to make Turbo Cider.

I put 1kg of sugar per 25L of pure juice and a small pot of honey, ends up at about 9%.

    How to make Turbo Cider.

What you need to do is just make some. Buy the yeast with sweetener already in it. When you've made it you've got a baseline to work from, you then adjust your recipe to suit your own taste. What one person tastes or wants is totally different to another. If when you've got a finished brew...

    How to make Turbo Cider.

There is no need to use turbo yeast, just use cider or wine yeast.

    Brewing something with pineapple, 'Cider'?

Sadly I forgot to take SG readings, but yes I like it strong. I make cider at about 9% as I enjoy the hit and don't drink a lot in quantity. I added another 5l of juice to bring the quantity up again, but not as much as there was in before. It was all over and done fermenting last week, so...

    Brewing something with pineapple, 'Cider'?

Well I set it off on Sunday, sadly I didn't check back here to heed Graz' good advice  Because I use a sachet of yeast with sweetener i'm pretty much stuck to making 25L so in it all went with Pectolase and almost 1kg sugar, leaving about 2" clear at the top. The apple cider i'm used to...

    Brewing something with pineapple, 'Cider'?

I couldn't think of a better name for it (there probably is one!) than cider, but what would happen if I brewed like I do with cider, but replaced the apple juice with Pineapple instead? I've done a bit of a search around and found nothing, all I know is the acidity is similar to apple and it...

    Miscalculated on the sugar?!

Everyone's taste is different, brew it out and see. Also, read the 'Cider is awful' for some ideas on body.

    But the cider is awful

I think a lot of people believe they can make proper cider from the minimum of ingredients (all natural of course) and that it will be tasty and full of body. It's usually foul and/or suitable for people with a certain kind of odd taste and lead lined stomachs because that's what 'proper' cider...

    Miscalculated on the sugar?!

You're worrying about nothing, well in my world you are - once it's finished you can't make it stronger, but you can always make it weaker! I make it like this as I don't like to drink in large volumes and add 1kg sugar per 24 litres juice + other sugary additives so end up about 8 - 9%. If you...

    But the cider is awful

It's his style of speaking I was referring to, more here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DMuO-8S_0Wg The only time I buy commercial cider is to compare against mine, we went to a food and drink festival in Summer and all the craft ciders were watered down too.

That's why I make make the best cider (pause) In The World. 'Cause it's 100%

    Elderberry and Ribena port

Put some of the cheapest brandy you can find in, then it'll be closer to Port :)

    My 2017 Cider Thread

It depends on the variety, I had some lovely red eaters 'Katy' ready in August here in W. Yorks, some of the older tart varieties are still on the trees, it has it's pros and cons.... I've got some rasberries that ripen from Sept through to Jan!
