I put 2 ipa kits in the fermenter, added the hops after 7 days as instructed. Still bubbling after 6 weeks, wondering if l should add more hops when it finally stops or just bottle as is. Any ideas ?
After brewing and checking with hydrometer twice to make sure it has finished, l transfer my brew to a secondary fermenter with 80g of sugar, my brew starts bubbling again. Do l bottle it or wait till it stops again? Any help appreciated.
Thanks for that Chippy, I've now got a new one.I also bought an Essencia 7 gallon fv which has a lid so tight you need to be Samson to get it off. I,ve done 2 brews in it so far. 1st one bubbled for four weeks-2nd one for three and a half weeks which makes me think that two weeks isn't really...
yes i found the same with the 5 gallon young's fermenter being a bit flimsy in the lid area so i bought a 7 gallon essencia fermenter from hop & grape. now i have a problem stopping it bubbling. since i got the new one i've done a munton's ipa and an american oaked rum ale. the first one...
Yes, I was surprised to find a bag of dust in my kit. Suppose it must be ok if they're all the same.Mine's bubbling away at the moment and the kitchen smells quite rummy.
I agree Chippy. I bought a Young's fv but it was a lot flimsier than the richies ones so I looked online for a Richies one but their site seems to be shut down. Maybe they've stopped trading?
Just finished drinking this and I found it to be a nice summer drink but it was way over carbonated after I batch primed with the recommended 150grms although others have found it to be flat using 80grms, so maybe best to go somewhere in between. maybe 110-120grms?
I'd just leave them mate. A week isn't long enough for it to clear and condition. It needs at least 2 weeks, preferably more. Try one in about a week and you should notice the difference.
