What size is the piping? Do you have any flow restrictions from keg to tap i.e any valves. Sent from my SM-T210 using Tapatalk

    Temperature

I use a electric blanket with a temperature controller works like a dream. I brew in my cellar so always need heat. Another good way is a brew fridge, basically a fridge with a heater in controlled by a temp controller. Perfect if brewing in a garage.

Wiring my PID controller for electric BIAB

You could just set pid temp to a unobtainable high temp say 150°c Some pids have 2 set points.

Easiest way to sterilise 40 odd bottles

Last time I did 40 bottles I washed them thoroughly then added about 20ml of water to each bottle. then cut some squares about 2" square of silver foil and sealed the tops then put them in the oven. (40 bottles fit perfectly in a 900mm oven) then set oven to 170°c for 2 hours. (did it at night...

    White Zinfandel kit

Just opened first bottle of this last night. Not a bad drink its only been in bottle a week and was left to clear for about a month. So far its not as nice as the wilkos strawberry I did so I better leave the other 5 bottles for a bit longer if I can.

    Hydrometer error.

If your reading is 1004 at 20°c and your hydro states 20°c then I think it is out of calibration. But be sure you are reading it correctly first before condemning it or applying a correction factor.

    Can anyone identify this?

I had this once when making a wine kit I put it down to using cold water and the nutrient not desolveing. I wouldn't worry about it because my wine was really nice.

    Ebay woe...however

If there was 3 elements in it it would have been wired as star point connected which means each element would have been 240v and would have been perfectly usable on single phase supply allthough it would need to be reconfigured. Do you still have it if so please post some pics so we can see it.

    White Zinfandel kit

I brought this kit the other day (havent started it yet) there isnt or supposed to be any sugar with this kit. May be the supplier just bundled it with it not knowing that you dont need it. This kit does not need sugar.

Need advice on first ever brew.

Best idea is to check with hydrometer if the reading is 1.030 or lower just give it a little stir and make sure its kept somewhere warm for another few days then recheck. If you have inadvertently killed the little yeastys the reading will probably be 1.030 or above if so pop down to wilkos or...

Is my electric boiler safely grounded?

You could remove L + N pins but i wouldnt bother ( it will help with stability of the plug in the socket ) you dont need to switch socket on either.

Is my electric boiler safely grounded?

The very idea of earthing metal appliances is to ensure that the fuse in the system trips when a fault condition occurs. by providing a very low resistance in the earth circuit a large fault current will develop ensuring that the fuse trips within the specific times allowed. Using water would...

Is my electric boiler safely grounded?

Looks like the element will be earthed but probably not the boiler casing. Use multimeter to confirm.
