Lidl Red Grape Juice for winemaking

I've heard cats take very well to Dingwall. So do homebrewers of course.

Lidl Red Grape Juice for winemaking

Blimey John, you must e out the way. If you can get to Fort William there is now Morrisons, Lidl, Aldi, Marks and small Tesco's. It's still dark though!

    Displaying Glasses

I have collected a few different beer glasses now. Any tips on displaying them nice? I've really only got room for a wall mounted cabinet or shelving in the lounge. Anyone bought or made something they like?

    go to bittering hops?

+1 for Target. First used it 40 years ago and still think it imparts a uniquebitterness to an English IPA. AND reasonably priced!

Get Er Brewed - stupid delivery prices

Try thehomebrewcompany. I live in Arisaig which is on the mainland but often classed as "off shore". Courier distribution in this are is stitched up by Menzies. The big couriers don't operate here so they off load it at high cost to the "local courier". But some suppliers like THBC and I have...

    Packaging

I have. Used THBC For the last couple of years and found their customer service spot on. But the postage charge to the Highlands of Scotland is also very good. If I spend over £70 they will send up to 60kg for £6.95. The MaltMiller would charge £27.22! It's a no brainer and the quality...

    Pleated Malt

Just did a variant of Smog Rocket clone from "Craft Beer" book. It's a porter and should have 1.5kg of smoked malt. I only had 0.5kg of smoked, but I also had some peated malt. At first I thought I'd put the lot in, but after googleing decided on 100g for my 25l batch. But way too peaty for...

    Base malt

A while back I raised a question mark as to the quality of this malt. I'm pretty sure now that it is fine malt. I believe now that I was drinking my brews too young. The cellars had run down etc. Found a couple of bottles brewed back in August - so 3 or 4 months to condition. No hint of any...

    White Labs in trouble?

Nice to have someone else to blame. I'll keep it up my sleeve.

Well Whats the thoughts on the Scottish 50p per unit then?

They've hit a brick wall with money. Nine primary school heads locally are being replaced by one "super head" at the secondary school. It's a nanny state raising more tax on the sly. Next they'll put income tax up.

    Brew day from hell!!!

    20L stock pot recommendations

Replying to my own post, I think it only needs to be 10 litres now - so may be the handles won't be so critical. So anyone got a recommendation for a 10 l pot. Nice strong lid etc.

    20L stock pot recommendations

Anyone got recommendations for a (20 l) stock pot they would feel safe to lift. I'm thinking of buying one for doing decoction. Will have to carry it up and down the stairs.

    leffe nectar clone

I know this thread is a couple of years old but.... I'm enjoying the Leffe Nectar and I'd luv to know how they get that honey sweetness. My wife keeps bees and I've brewed a beer with honey in it. It tasted dry and I've seen people write about this feature of brewing with honey. Anyone got and...
