    Mangrove Jacks Hard Seltzer

Good luck Nibber! Hopefully they carbonate properly, unlike mine. Report back in a few weeks! :-)

    Mangrove Jacks Hard Seltzer

Hi, Mine took just over 24hrs until the airlock started bubbling, which is pretty normal for homebrew beer. It smelt like a ***** white wine or a grim cider for the first few days. If you're bottling then I wouldn't bother with the finings....seems to have ruined mine! Good luck!

    Mangrove Jacks Hard Seltzer

Yep I used both packets, as recommended previously in this thread. I think you may be right...and the instructions did say to not bother with either, I think? That could explain the lack of fizz and also off flavours. Bit of a waste of money but should have followed the instructions rather than...

    Mangrove Jacks Hard Seltzer

Little update.... unfortunately, it has been a massive disappointment. I'm sure it's probably my fault, somehow, but after several weeks they have not carbonated properly. A very mild fizz as opposed to the lovely bubbles I was tentatively hoping for. The flavour is pretty unpleasant too...

Any reviews on the mangrove jacks helles lager

A little update for anyone interested in the Helles. Added the dry hops, a few days later transferred to a fermentation bucket with tap. Waited a few days for it to clear below room temp, then bottled using 3 X carbonation drops on 1L PETs. Carb'd nicely after a week. I put the bottles outside...

    Mangrove Jacks Hard Seltzer

About 24hrs later and it's pretty much crystal clear

    Mangrove Jacks Hard Seltzer

Thought I'd post an update in case anyone was interested. I moved things along a bit due to work commitments. It was in the FV for 7 days. I then added finings and left for 48hrs. I then transferred to a clean FV, added flavourings and left for a further 48hrs. I transferred to a bottling...

    Mangrove Jacks Hard Seltzer

Hi again! I've just noticed that the instructions state not to bother with the two different packets of finings if bottling (which I am), and only to use them if kegging. I'd like a nice clear seltzer so am wondering if I should use one or both packets anyway. I'm planning on putting it in a...

    Mangrove Jacks Hard Seltzer

Thanks, that's really helpful. I think I'll let it ferment for 7-14 days, then transfer to secondary and add the flavourings, leave for another few days, then bottle. I may even transfer back to another bucket for bottling. Will post results when it's done!

    Mangrove Jacks Hard Seltzer

Hi B2B Crew, have you had a chance to brew one of these seltzer kits yet? Mine is arriving from B2B today and I'm keen to give it a go. Would you recommend following the instructions precisely, or to allow extra time for fermentation as with most homebrew beer kits? Would you consider doing a...

    Mangrove Jacks Hard Seltzer

Has anyone made one of these kits yet? I've ordered the pineapple seltzer kit...for sh1ts and giggles. I'm wondering if, as with beer kits, it would benefit from a longer fermentation time. Would be keen to hear if anyone has tried it out yet. (For the homebrew purists, don't worry...I've also...

Mangrove Jacks Helles Lager - Floaters?

Hopefully they don't freeze in the cold weather this weekend! I was considering ditching the secondary... I'm probably a little obsessed with a clear brew, and understand that it introduces potential added risks. To be honest, i quite enjoy the process and added anticipation! I also dry hop all...

Mangrove Jacks Helles Lager - Floaters?

Just a little update in case anyone was interested...the brew carbonated well. A bit too well. A couple of gushers, so moving to a cold place, probably an outdoor storage unit. Still have a lot of hop material floating about but hoping the cold will help things to settle a bit more. The flavour...

Mangrove Jacks Helles Lager - Floaters?

Thanks for the advice, and reassurance! I'll be sure to store them somewhere cold once they've carbonated. I used 3 drops in my last brew and it was perhaps a little less fizzy than I was hoping...so as long as I don't get any gushers I'll be a happy chappy! (Never had one so I suppose I'm due...

MJ New Zealand Pilsner Hop addition

I brewed this a while back and went for Saaz. Produced a decent brew but did have a slight twang to it. However, it gave it a bit of a citrusy character rather than the classic homebrew twang. Didn't really notice it after a few sips. Also, I drank it way to quickly and I'm sure it would have...

    Mangrove Jacks Brewers Series Pilsner

Hi, I brewed the NZ pilsner a few months back. I also thought it had a bit of a tang to it. Not in an entirely unpleasant way though! I dry hopped with saaz for a few days. Ended up with a nice, dry, crisp...if sliiightly tangy beer. I'm tempted to try it again with more hops and using LME...

Mangrove Jacks Helles Lager - Floaters?

Morning fellow brewers! I've recently brewed and bottled a Mangrove Jacks Helles Lager and a MJ Australian pale ale. Both fermented well in 9 days despite a sluggish start for the APA. Added the hop pellets to primary for a further 3 days, then transferred to a clean FV to settle for 4 days...

Any reviews on the mangrove jacks helles lager

I've got a Mangrove Jacks Craft Series Helles Lager in a fermentation bucket as we speak. I used the Mangrove Liquid Malt Extract in place of sugar. Also decided to try some Harris Pure Brew (to try and help with the hard water in Bristol). Day 7 and it seems to have largely finished up, after...

Festival Razorback & US Steam Beer - Keg vs Bottle

Update: I've just kegged the razorback. I've had a cheeky taste and it's flippin lovely. However, it's by far the most sedimenty brew I've ever done (despite the use of a mesh bag). Hopefully it'll settle out after a while. Not the end of the world though as it does taste pretty great. The hops...
