    magnum Elderflower cider kits, tastes watery??

    Well, This has been in the keg now for a good 6weeks, it doesnt seem to have much fizzyness about it and tasted rather watery?? Any ideas guys???

    26, started in Feb this year. Love the fact that there are peeps on here that were brewing before i was born!!!! Gotta love the internet

    thats just the co2 that the yeasts are releasing i believe, one fermentation is complete and pot sorb and finings are added, you then need to de gas (remove that co2)

    i keep all my wines in the same place i leave them to clear, then plonk (no pun intended!!) them in the frige on the morning im gonna be drinking them, giving them enough time to chill for the nite!

    nice one dude!!! With my first complete wine, i took lots of pics lol, its on a thread here somewhere but i cba to find it lol!! Well done though! It is very satisfying when you see your first brew come out good and it doesnt really wear off either!!!! Oh and im on the cork bandwagon!! :rofl:

    not having a go mate, but try and make use of the search button as this has been covered several times. Anyway, onwards and upwards, yes is the general answer. I prefer to cork them as its more reliable that reusing the screw caps but it has been said on here that you could use the cap another...

    im acctually leaving more space than i usually do, filling to the neck of the bottle. I dont soak them for long, just put them in 250mls of water with a crushed CT, then shake off the access. Im using screw top bottles but these are the same as i have previously used aswell.

    Ok, bottles 4 gallons yesterday of various wurzels. Using the same corks as i have before (Favourite Quality high density ones from Blackheath market) but also used some high density ones from Harris (which i like very much!! :D ). Now i've never had a single problem with these corks before...

    Put simply, the yeast likes it lol!!!! I think it does say somewhere in the CCJ Bible what it does exactly but yeah, the yeasts like it, its like nutrient to them ;)

    not sure dude, think they have stopped making them but not sure. Its from the Harris Quikfine filtering kit but i aquired it with some DJ's quite some time ago

    right, this has been under the stairs in the cool clearing area for nearly 2months now. Its clearing but not clear yet. there is a sediment at the bottom. Should I leave alone until its proper clear or rack it or add finnings or what?????? :wha:

    racking can **** the yeasts off, it will be off again in a day or two. The reminants of the steralizing that hasnt been rinsed will just leave a nasty after taste i believe

    vinbrite filter pads for the filter mate, and they just pull apart, only do it carefully so you can see where all the parts go!!!!!
