Klarstein 70 litre Brauheld Pro Mash Kettle (It's a wee bit big)

In my opinion you’d need this https://www.bes.co.uk/screwed-hose-tail-adaptor-stainless-steel-3-8-14557/ A 1/2” tail would be too big for a 12mm silicon hose

Klarstein 70 litre Brauheld Pro Mash Kettle (It's a wee bit big)

Hi It’s 3/8”... you’ll get a 3/8”x10/12mm fitting at most plumbing places. I’d use BES if you can’t get to plumbcentre.

    What did you brew today?

Have a read at the book Brew by James Morton. It explains things quite well. He says flame out or end of boil hops should be added and steeped for up to 30 mins at between 75-79c. Any higher a temp adds unwanted bitterness. Just finished an Elvis juice clone using this method. Turned out very...

    Barrel issues help please.

Hi. I've replaced the seal on the top cap. So all should be fine with the barrel. Just looking to see if I should re-prime with more sugar. Cheers

    Barrel issues help please.

Hi folks. I've just checked my all grain brew thinking it would be ready for conditioning. To my horror after 2 weeks with sugar in it, it's flat as a pancake. I've found that the seal on the barrel has distorted! Would I need to add more sugar or just keep it another couple of weeks in the...

Corney keg or stick with plastic keg

Morning Neddy. Do you force carbonated with a co2 cylinder and hand pump for pouring etc? If this is the case, is it quicker to brew to drink? No need to wait for sugar to carbonate? :hmm:

Corney keg or stick with plastic keg

Hi folks. Just looking for some opinions. Thinking of upgrading to a corney keg and beer engine. Currently have 4 plastic kegs. Is it better with a corney and force carbonating or should I stick with the barrels and priming?

braumeister or brew in a bag??

Your equipment would be the urn ( change the tap to a ball valve with a hop filter - very easy how to on the forum ), a bag to put your malt in, and a fermenting vessel, bucket. Nothing major required.

braumeister or brew in a bag??

I BIAB using this method with absolutely no problems. Well, apart from the element on my urn burning out, so now use a gas hob. Same method though.

    Krausen or lack of.

Thanks folks. Gravity looks ok. Down to 1010 & still a few bubbles going on. I'm going to leave it for the full 2 weeks. Used a couple of different yeasts this time, usually use us05, so this explains it. Cheers

    Krausen or lack of.

Hi. I have 2 all grain beers in the fvs. Been there for a week now. There is a little krausen around the edge, but not over the whole beer. Is this normal? As all others I've done has a large krausen over whole beer. Thanks in advance.

    Forgot to add Irish moss

I forgot to add Irish moss to my last 5 mins of boil. Just remembered now, after it's in the keg for clearing in the garage! Will it this just take longer to clear than usual?
