    Free Bottles East London

I have a load of brown bottles, 150 maybe, that I don't need any more. 330 and 500ml. They're all cleaned and have the label removed, a lot have been sanitised and have foil over the top from when I last used them. Free to anyone in any quantity. Pick up only, obviously.

    AG49 Vermont IPA

I just ordered myself some of the Yeast Bay vermont ale for my next IPA. I made one recently with WLP644, which I've heard folk use for juicy NE style IPAs, and it's probably the best beer I've ever made. I did all hops (200gr for 18 litres, with another 150gr dry hop) at 0 minutes (after...

    330ml San Miguel bottles

Anyone use them? The 330ml brown ones? I got given a load as I need to bottle my latest in small bottles (dont fancy 500ml at a time of 7.2%). My capper does them fine and I assume as they contain lager they'll be good to hold a homebrew carbonated to lager levels. You agree?

    London Fields Brewery?

I like their beers. Most the stuff I've had of theirs is very hoppy, American IPA kinda stuff.

how to make strawberry wheat beer from a kit

I think someone on here primed a beer with 20ml of strawberry syrup, which they bought from a Polish shop, instead of sugar. Obviously need to be careful of amount of sugar in it so you dont explode bottles.

How Long Do Plastic Pet Bottles Last?

The Coopers PET bottles claim to have a nylon layer that stops the problems associated with PET bottles, saying they are Oxygen Baring. The marketing spiel is: "Remember the slogan, "Good things come in glass" This slogan is also true for your brew but finding good quality glass beer bottles...

    Bottle or Keg Recommendations

How does one keep a keg cold? Or are people drinking this beer more cool than cold? I dont think my obsession with cold fizzy beers would work well with kegs (unless they were kegeratored).

    Coopers Wheat Extract Tin Recipe

I'm not sure I've ever seen it over here either, so got to to brew at home to try it out. I think it sounds good though. From what I've read wheat is normally 50%+ in wheat styles (I guess that's why wheat extract those proportions), so if you add your light DME you'll 25% ish wheat. I still...

    Thoughts on my Saison

A week has passed and with the krausen collapsing a couple of days back thought it was time for a sample. As soon as the lid on the FV was cracked I knew it was a Belgian beer, loads of fruity smells. It's down to 1.004 (leaving it at 7.2%!), so I'm guessing fermntation complete but will give...

    Coopers Wheat Extract Tin Recipe

Have you tried an American wheat? I havent but it's next on my list, basically wheat and pale malt like a a German/Belgian wheat beer but with a neutral yeast, so none of the banana and clove flavours you get in the European ones. They give them a bit of hop aroma over there too, but bittering...

W(I)PA - Wheat (India) Pale Ale

Some of the photos of it I've seen have been reasonably dark so could be a good addition, I think if you drop to 25 you'll be right in the middle of US wheat beer territory too. Reads like it will be very tasty. I'll be putting an order in for something similar (wheat extract, US-05, Saaz and...

W(I)PA - Wheat (India) Pale Ale

I've never made one but I've been doing a bit of reading on American wheat beers recently in prep for trying one myself. Style seems to be characterised by >50% wheat malt and a clean yeast, so none of the banana and clove you get in the German and Belgian styles. Bitterness was more like 20...
