Evenin All I have picked a few elderflowers today, have just smelt the bag that they are in and they dont smell very fragrant but they smelt ok when first picked. Is this normal or have I picked the wrong type? Also, regarding leaving the EF's in a bag for 24 hrs before shaking, wont they be...

Evening All, I have a dj of juice wine that has been left alone for 2 months (was left in a cupboard and forgot about it  ) and needs racking off the sediment, is there a maximum time a juice wine can be left on the lees before it affects the flavour? What affect on flavour does leaving...

    170L Stainless Boiler/Mashtun/HLT/Fermenter

Its a MONSTER  Very Impressive! Nice one Brewzone, I guess you'll be heating with gas for the boiler, imagine how many elements you'd need in that. Can you reveal the cost? To buy something of that size in the UK would cost a small fortune!

    False Bottom

Heres a a very cheap false bottom option for a MT: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/10112530 I think you would have to make the holes in the mesh slightly wider and be lucky enough to have a vessel that it fits......but its cheap as chips!!

    Nordic Optical Thermopots

Cheers MD, they seem to be the cheapest on the web and quality looks spot on. What size thermo, for a mash tun, would you suggest for up to 20gals finished in Fv? Could you insulate a standard 100 litre pot to be a MT? wouldnt be as pretty as a thermo but could be done I guess

    What to do...I'm so indecisive...

Do I: A) Get an AG set up a.s.a.p using cheapest goods to hand or B) Take a bit more time and get some SS stock pots converted (sounds fun) and sort a decent MT out etc. If going down the cheapest/quickest route how long generally does a homebrewer use their first brewery before making MK2...

Thanks UP No I dont have any but I know a couple of people who have connections with Micro's so thought it may well be worth investigating. No harm in asking i guess. Thanks for the link, £75 each is a bit more than I was hoping to pay as I want to to make a HLT, Boiler and maybe a MT out of...
