Brewfather giving incorrect water volume, through ignoring LME volume.

. Did first partial mash recipe (a super high gravity RIS), going with Brewfather figures for water, but then ended up having to boil more than twice as long as specified, to get correct batch volume. The LME was included in Fermentables, with use set to flameout. I normally do all grain...

Water when using liquid malt extract

Hi all, Can I use ONLY distilled water for 23L batch when using liquid malt extract, and will I get desired 5.2-5.6 PH of the wort, or I still need to adjust PH to get 5.2PH? Also, I'm planning to add one sachet (4g) of yeast nutrient. Thanks for all replies.

    Grain bill / water ratio

Hi guys, I have bought a few all grain kits lately that have no water quantity’s on. I’ve been guessing from previous expierence and brews the split between mash and sparge water. RO Filters

Hello all, I am in an area of very hard water (>250ppm) and was looking at a 3-stage RO filter to dilute my water for pilsners. First NEIPA attempt

In recent brews I have been expanding my knowledge by using adjucts (vanilla, maple syrup, cocoa, candi sugar etc) and now I want to have a go at a brew with water adjustments. I want to try a NEIPA and have read a couple of really helpful posts on how to adjust for water and how the grain...

    Boiling water before mash

HI everyone, If I was to boil my water before adding to the mash to reduce alkalinity, how long would I have to boil for? The amount of CaCo3 in my water is 335.5 and I'd prefer not to use CRS as according to Brewers Friend this pumps up my Chloride too high. Any advice very welcomed thanks.

    Burton Beer Water

I have discovered that the still water sold in Lidl as their own brand called SASKIA comes from a spring source just outside Burton on Trent. This, presumably, would make it ideal for brewing Burton style beer. The chemical breakdown is...
