I brewed this as part of my historic beer recipes project and I have to say its very nice. Very Simple Recipe:

3.5kg Golden Promise
1.9kg Flaked Barley

Fuggles 23g @ 75mins
Fuggles 14 @ 30mins
EKG 8g Dry Hop

White labs 028 Edinburgh Ale Yeast

67c Mash, Mash out 75c (10 Mins)

Flavour is like an American cream ale rather than an IPA with limited bitterness and a sweetness on the lips. Not much bitterness due to wartime shortages but smooth and with some body due to the flaked barley. Not an IPA as we know it but a good easy drinking beer with flavour.
