Hi,
So I've purchased some Mangrove Jack's Pure Liquid Malt Extract - Amber (1.5kg), and 1kg of brewing sugar. I'm seeking to make a batch of amber ale akin to Abbot Ale, or Doombar - something similar at least.
I was going to use Mangrove Jack's American Amber Ale beer kit, however it seems it has been discontinued and nowhere has it. I love amber ale, with the 2 beers mentioned being my 2 favourites, but I've never delved too deep into pale ale - though I know I don't like IPA; its too hoppy for my taste.
I was considering therefore using Mangrove Jack's American Pale Ale, or any variation of Pale Ale in their range. What I'm wondering, is will adding the amber malt extract to the pale ale result in a nice outcome thats similar to an amber ale, or would it be a weird mix of incompatible brews?
I appreciate this is quite niche, so any help is appreciated, cheers :)
