Affordable Beer Taps?

I bought these taps from eBay about 1 year ago. Practically they work great - easy to use and easy to clean. However after less than 6 months I started to see plating disappear. I don't know if it affects flavour but it the plating must have gone somewhere and I'm not sure if the base metal is particularly safe or tasty.

Anybody got a good and affordable suggestion for replacements?

Not an adjustable flow though, but does the job as I need it to.

IMO worth getting Stainless Steel (SS) ones, OK more expense but they'll last you. I bought mine from Brewkeg Tap.

My cheapo eBay taps have started to do the same so I'm slowly replacing them all with Nukataps and SS shanks.

Buy cheap, buy twice. Go for Intertap or Nukatap.

Intertap SS with flow control are brilliant

Mine did that. So did the inside of the shanks. All now replaced with Intertap SS.

Thanks for all the replies, I only got one notification so didn't check back until now!

The tap and the lever part is actually looking okay, but the conical flow control and the receiver that bolts to the fridge door is nasty.

In an effort to save the good bits... I wonder if a 3D printed PETG part would stand up? It is food safe, but I've no idea how it might react with beer and carbonation.

P.S. Did anyone notice the tap corrosion affecting taste? Or taste better with decent taps?
