Had a brew day today and decided to do an American IPA using Citra and Cascade hops and 5kg of Pale malt with a little Crystal malt, everything went well and hit 1.053 a tad under prediction but only used 500g of crystal instead of 1kg, pitched at 19C with M44 and now sitting at 20C for a couple weeks.

Hi. How did it go? I am doing my first full AG brew tomorrow. Greg Hughes American IPA. Simcoe and Citra...
Hope it goes well......

it went very well thanks, started drinking a couple yesterday, used the same recipe but used cascade instead of simcoe, doing the same tomorrow but using simcoe instead of cascade. Good luck with your first AG, its alot easier than you imagine but is time consuming.

Tell me about it. Life got in the way today. So now looking at Sunday or Monday.

A kilo of crystal in that would have been too much. I usually shoot for 5% of the total grain bill, no more.

All the Best,
D. White
