After the success of my previous IPA, i decided to do another a) because i drank it all b) i fancied tweaking it so its a bit more pale ale IPA and less bitter.
No idea why the last one tasted more bitter than the IBUs in brewersfriend stated, but it was a bit too bitter for me and was also a bit darker in colour than i wanted as well.
So this one is a proper pale ale with big hops and dry hop. Shooting for an overall 12-15EBC and just over 40 IBU
3kg Irish malt
50gm crystal malt 110ebc
100gm caramalt
16l mash at 65c for an hour followed by a 4l sparge and a good bag squeeze
Leaving 19l wort for a 60 minute boil
Hops
15gm admiral at 60min
25gm Cascade at 5min
50gm citra will go in as a dry hop on day 5
15l in to the fv with an og of 1.045 adjusted for temperature.
so i managed to break 70% efficiency again!
