Hello all
Primarily I ferment in my temp controlled brew fridge. Atm this has a brew in which needs another week or so plus time for dry hop which I want to control.
However I want to get more brews on and have a heat pad.
I'm keen to maintain consistency etc so. ..do any ag brewers use a heat pad and does it affect the final product?

Cheers

Clint

I've used one - the sort you put under an aquarium. Pretty low wattage - 25 I think - and it kept the brew at a fairly steady 20 ish.

Have you got a spare inkbird? I don't see any reason you couldn't use it with a heat pad to avoid overheating

Yes got a spare inky...I did a malingering JB ale kit with a tin of coopers dark malt a few weeks back on the pad with inky and towels you wrap it all in and was quite surprised at the taste. ...it was vastly different than my ag brews...in a negative way...it'll need a bit of conditioning but won't go to waste.
I just needed reassurance before I ruin an ag brew on it....
