After asking about Maxi BIAB a week
Or so ago I have gone for it!

I used brewer’s friend for the first time and came up with the recipe below.

4.6kg Lager malt
0.3kg Crystal

40g Magnum 11% @ 60 mins
30g Chinook 13% @ 15 mins

13L mash underway in a spare bucket.

My grain bag isn’t big enough for the bigger Mash bucket, so I’ll use it to strain and then dunk sparge with 6L in a 15L bucket later, hopefully that plan will work :hat:

So I rigged up a Filtration / Lauter isn’t setup using my bottling bucket, mashing bag and an upturned colander to support my ‘too small’ bag!

Seems to have worked Ok, but need to improve my sparging technique as it got a bit stuck / airlocked!

Onto the boil now, 15L pan quite full with a bit more for topping up!

Here’s a pic of my patented “double towel wrap” mash tun - only lost 1 degree over 60 minutes with a stir at halfway!

Oh, and the door to my garage
