Hi,

I have had a look on the other beer engine threads but can’t find the answer.

I have purchased a used Angram CQ beer engine for the princely sum of £50. Works and pulls fine, just needs a good clean.
Would anyone be able to please tell me which fitting I need to connect to the bottom of the cylinder? I have attached some photos.

I would then like to run either some 1/2” or 3/8 beer line to a polypin initially. If I use a polypin would I still need a check or demand valve?

My thoughts are that I could turn off the tap on the polypin when not in use?

I’ve been looking at that malt Miller polypin: Bag in a Box 20 Ltr (Polypin) | The Malt Miller

The idea would be to condition in the polypin.

ideally in future I’d then like to get a low pressure reg and demand valve so that I can run off my corny kegs. But I want to get it set up of a polypin initially before I spend loads more.

thanks

Thanks.

I have been looking online for all the bits I need. And without spending a fortune on shipping from different retailers I have settled on the following (in order from bottom of engine to corny keg):

-1/2” to 3/8” reducing elbow on the bottom of the engine
-3/8” beer line (the hard type) with a 3/8” to 1/2” stem adapter to demand valve
-3/8” beer line from demand valve to quick disconnect out post on corny.

All should arrive next week so I can give it a dry run with some cleaner.

If the 3/8 tube provides inadequate I will bite the bullet and pay £7 delivery on £3 worth of1/2”braided line.

I thought with a 3/8 to 1/2” stem

You have me worried now that it won’t work with a barbed stem? 😱
I may be wrong, as I have never tried, but I don't think a JG push fit would be compatible with a barb. Note also, I am assuming that the 1/2" connection on your demand valve is indeed barbed.
As far as I know, a stem and a barb are different things.

Ah balls

I’ll have a look when it all arrives. Worst case I’ll order a couple of metres of the 1/2” braided line you recommended and suck up the postage.

Can’t wait to get it all set up 🍺🤪
