Hi I did a long weekends camping last year and fancy having a few more this summer.
I wondered which is the best forum to go on for tent camping on sites.
Considering my options such as tent, roof tent for my Freelander 2 or trailer tent.
Cheers

Great if you don't have any kids and you don't wish to be bothered by other people's kids!

This is the best of all sites and I have used it on many occasions with my motorhome.

At the top of the page you can select the little "Tent" logo and then zoom in and choose a site you like the look of.

After that I then go to this site ...

... and then zoom in to take a satellite look at the campsite to make sure I like the look of it.

I've just checked the bit of land we have in France and it looks as if no-one has nicked our compost heap!

Enjoy! :thumb:

Up until last year we were fairly regular campers, been a bit on and off since having kids but now they're getting older (4&6) it's getting easier. Had a great week in Pembrokeshire last summer. However I'm picking up my first caravan this weekend! Decided we need a bit more comfort if we want to be away for a week or more and airbeds simply don't cut it anymore.

The place we're buying it from lets you have a free overnight stay on the site next door so you can check everything is working etc., going to be interesting as the overnight temperatures for this weekend are -2 to -3°C, probably have to leave the heater on overnight. Oh how soft is that :)

For sites we are members of the Camping and Caravanning Club (and now also the Caravan Club) and their sites directories are pretty handy. Also use http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/ as the reviews are very useful and https://www.pitchup.com/ as it's very handy to be able to check availability and book online. Been on a couple of very nice sites through this, one in the Forest of Dean and our Pembrokeshire site last year.

Go with a Bedouin caravan across the Sahara, I'm sure Saisonator would love it.

Thanks for that Dutto.
No kids yet but one on the way, so will check out the top one while we still qualify.

I lived in Israel and backpacked around Egypt during my younger days.
Not sure if I would risk anything like that with a pregnant wife.
