So no work of art for me😂
The starter is so young, as they grow older there be so much stronger.
I obviously didn't want to use my starter as that would of been cheating.
I also normally give mine a lot longer second prove. Wether that's a thing who knows.
It's all about finding what works for you so as not to be a hassle and make you give up😢
Not a bad crumb shot though, perhaps had I made a top cross or deeper slice it would of helped?

Thanks for starting this thread JFB. I’ve had mixed results previously on my sourdoughs , some good some mediocre.
I’ll be baking at the weekend so fingers crossed.

Just mixed some of my spent starter with a bit of left over mash and made potato pancakes , were pretty decent with my leek n potato soup ..

Also made pancakes last night with spent starter, mixed with water, and had them with a curry.... YUMM!!! Took a while to cook, but maybe I made'em a bit thick...

Well I made sour dough frisbee

Had for lunch with homemade pickles and chutney.
Tasted bready and slightly sour but texture of old boot - wow it took some chewing.
Two main problems:
1. Failure to read, understand and follow simple instructions
2. Failure to read, understand and follow simple instructions
In the fridge I have day one starter and the unused starter from the bread. I guess the day one should have been with the rest? Is this now Jeffrey or the mother of all sour dough?
Great fun, thanks for the lesson, will try a bit harder with the next one 🤣🍻

Here's mine, a bit undercooked in the middle, and the paper stuck to the bottom, but it's delicious, proper sourdough taste!!!
Looks amazing for your first loaf!
Great learning curve towards perfection 😎

Looks like you had some activity!
Whatever is your freshest starter keep building it up👍
Looks like you got all the other stages good😉 And I'm not sure how simple my instructions sounded🍻

It turns out that the parchment I used wasn't, probably just brown paper- it's a wonder I didn't set the house on 🔥...!!!
