I think greg hughes' book is awasome ad use it as my recipe bible.

My favourite is The Mikkeller book,
It's half recipes and half technique.
I also recommend Designing Great Beers by Ray Daniels. It gives the formulas and parameters for various styles including breakdowns of competition entries, really good for getting to know how to brew to a style.
