Marston's Pedigree New World Pale Ale for 95p in Morrisons? Go on then, twist my arm...

Made with Australian hops including Galaxy & Topaz according to the website. Crisp and tasty - very nice it is too.

I give it a "damn right I will" out of 10. :hat:

Tesco Double IPA by Btewdog. Suspect it might be (fairly sure it is) Hardcore IPA, 9.2%, £1.99 for 330ml, had three last night - not a session beer!

I had a few of them over Christmas and enjoyed them. The ding-dong was merrilying along that night if I remember.

Yes, tesco's finest americaan double ipa. is my fave from the major supermarkets, that or thornbridge's jaipur, although I do remember when aventinus was on sale in one of the big four, alas those days have passed.

As for a cheapie, marsdon's new world ipa is very good, but not as nice as my Galaxy brew.

What about the Brewdog Punk IPA or is it the case the more "commercialised" it gets the less people like it ?
Thumbs up from me anyway :thumb:
With you on this. Punk IPA was the beer that got me into the very hoppy IPA style, and popular or not I love the stuff.

abbot reserve was a favourite of mine but you don't see it often. Victory ale and mcewans champion ale were sampled a lot while collecting bottles

I've tried Jaipur-X and it's immense. But then I've got a real thing for Double IPAs at the moment. Had a Redchurch Mosaic Double IPA in the pub last night that was lovely and I've also got a soft spot for Double Joker by Wiliiams amongst others. The Double IPA that I made is one of the best brews that I've done.

Anything by the Cromarty Brewery at the minute. Particularly their AKA IPA and Man Overboard.

Agreed. All the Cromarty beers are excellent. Man Overboard is another Doube IPA that I like. Shame it comes in a 500ml bottle (8%) but I've only ever seen Croamrty beers in that size - I guess they don't do 330ml bottles.

Brewed Awakening is really good (coffee & chocolate stout).

500ml is the correct sized bottle, haha! My wife has brought a Man Overboard (fnar fnar!) and a Rogue Wave back for me to come home to. Smashin'!

I've tried to order Jaipur-x and it was sold out :(

it goes on sale when I'm in work and not there when I get home.

not fair, that's penalising those of us who go to work to fund our brewing bug

did finally get a box of jaipur-x it's good, but I prefer hardcore IPA/tesco finest amerian ipa/bengali tiger.

it is impossible to choose a single beer, so :

weizendopplebock - aventinus
imperial stout - brooklyn black chocolate stout
gueze - boon oude gueze
kriek - Kasteel rouge
strong ale - adnams broadside (bottled)

My current favourites are (but change quite often!):-

Lagunitas IPA
Adnams Mosaic Pale Ale
Goose Island IPA

On the flip side, tried Brew Dog Dead Pony IPA the other day and was really disappointed. Was not hoppy at all and could only smell the malt! Guess they were a couple of old bottles.

Sophisticated tastes there dad! I often have a Bengali Tiger in Wetherspoons, lovely stuff!

You should try it, hops_and-dreams, given that you like Lagunitas IPA, Adnams Mosaic Pale Ale and Goose Island IPA. I like Lagunitas and Goose Island too, not had the Adnams Mosaic.

The downside of living in North Norfolk is that we don't get many exotic beers on tap in the local pubs! The upside is you can nearly always get an Adnams pint. Mosaic is fantastic and probably my favourite pint, can't praise it highly enough! Not as hoppy as the others and slightly cloudy so guess it's a bit wheaty perhaps? Ghost Ship and Dry Hopped Lager are other Adnams favourites of mine.

I did get a bit exited when we walked into a country pub the other day and they had an IPA on tap - Greene King West Coast, was actually very nice for a 'commercial' brewery.
