I believe so.
I add the tablet to the cold water then turn the heater on and carry on.So once the tablet is added, do you leave the water overnight or can you crack on with the rest of the process.

I am talking about all grain brewing, so I mash the grain and then boil the wort before the yeast is added. The campden tablet has done it's stuff by then and won't affect the yeast you add for fermentation.Thanks RichardM. The tablet doesnt inhibit the yeast then.
When i'm making cider i usually add a tablet to the apple juice to kill off the unwanted nasty yeasts and then add the cider yeast 24 hours later.
Ah yeah, that makes sense now.
