:tinhat:Does it work...?
I'm not sure if any other forum members are using @Buffers brewery modification, but I had two done by him during the summer and am so pleased with them that I've just gone and bought a third King Keg and got him do the lid for that one too. I'm not a King Keg zealot as I have 3 cornies as well, but until this year my two old KKs were abandoned at the back of the shed, whereas I have now got to the stage where I only bottle a few from each brew for friends and family and all the rest go into kegs both Cornelius and King.
Here is my first pint pulled through my beer engine using Keiths modified KK, it tastes great(Yorkshire Bitter) a small leak on the demand valve(new one on order) but Keiths Mods work great
Keith deserves a Knighthood in my eyes. Mine works fantastically as well
The 3 I have performed leak free for getting on for a year now so I can answer your question @Clint with a "Yes". athumb..:laugh8:

Since posting this thread I bought a 3D printer and apart from printing other gadgets I successfully printed the clamp ring (previously made from cast resin) of the original king keg cap.

Not having a lot on the "to do" list of late I was looking for something to do and decided to design an make a 2" version of my plastic barrel cap. Fortunately I had a Young's 5 gallon pb with a 2" neck.

PB with clamp fitted.

3D printed a mould to cast the silicone seal.

Used a corny float for the beer out line but had to thread the pipe through the seal before attaching it to the post.

Cap held in place by 3 nuts. Gas in from the side and beer out from the top.

Probably a pointless project but kept me occupied for a week or so.
Now what am I going to do? :confused.::laugh8:

That is very nicely done,
Looking for a project you could work this to make a similar for disposable key kegs. I remove the bags etc and with a bit of dremelling fit a sanke keg adapter on with a triclamp. Then you have a clear barrel in sizes from 20 to 30 litres for pressure fermenting/ kegging.
They would still need a bit of hacking, or making a custom " bung " to replace the pieces removed from inside the keg neck that the normal connector plugs and locks onto.

or make one of these!

Oooo! I’m tempted! Only thing is I know nothing about key kegs asad.. Like, how easy is it to remove the black moulding from the top? How easy does the bag and (pink?) bung come out? What’s the surface finish of the top face like after the bits are removed? What are the dimensions of the outer neck form?
I’d like to but too many unknowns aheadbutt

@Buffers brewery
I'll do a take down and send you a pm with photos. I get mine from a local brew pub they are only too glad to get rid of them.

They also make very good mini cloches in the garden protecting vulnerable plants.

Bit of fiddle to get the bag out but i've managed it several times. Top Surface is smooth and the sanke adapter with silicone O ring on makes a good seal up to about 35 psi ( not tried any higher).

Always happy to have a look at a new challenge.
BTW I have relatives not too far from you in Waikanae and Carterton. Small world!
