I am using a Bulldog brewer v2. Would have liked a Braumeister but couldnt run to it. I have done 7 all grain brews and they just get better, it is one of the best movesI have ever made.
Question for any one using all in one brewers, If you are using almost all of the boil liquid in the mash, how important is the sparge, is it just a case of sparging to make up the boil volume?

Bulldog Brewer v3 here. Yes, make up to boil volume with the sparge. It will do wonders for your efficiency. For most my brews I can't get close to having all the water in the mash, as it would be higher than the overflow pipe and recirculate through it instead of through the grain.

Thanks! If the recipe was an end of boil volume of say 28l (and I am getting a boil off of around 5l), would you
a) add water during the boil
b) add water after the boil
c) try to alter the recipe

I would scale the recipe down to 25L.
