Thanks. Everything I've ever seen says it's "rise over run" or the slope formula. If it's actually more complicated than just showing the change of a line, that's beyond me.

I understand, but for me being a quantity surveyor, it's my trade.
And this was just a simplified formula for a slope along 2 axis (it's usually 3 axis of course)
