Just bought a conical and wondered if I need to put anything on the dump valve or just leave it as it is.

There is a valve yes and it's a brewmonk conical

Leave it as is or buy a hose tail if you need to extend it for any reason.

Thanks for that it makes sense now . Just looks a bit weird without anything screwed onto it.
