I'm making Greg Hughes' oatmeal stout next weekend and am thinking about using the Crossmyloof real ale yeast - I want to take advantage of the bulk buy prices they offer (75p a pack of yeast is great value!).

Has anyone used this yeast yet, and do you think it would be suitable for the style?

I haven't used the yeast but you want something that will leave a bit of body and residual sweetness

Yeah, go direct via FB and you'll get 10 for £6.95 - The Crossmyloof Brewery and message them. BTW I believe they're manufactured by a German Co in The UK. Some stats I've found:
CLASSIFICATION: Saccharomyces cerevisiae RECOMMENDED TEMPERATURE RANGE: 17 - 22°C ATTENUATION: (67-73%) FLOCCULATION RATE: 79% COMPACTION: 80% VIABLE YEAST CELLS: >5 x 109 cells per gram DRY WEIGHT: 93 " 96% WILD YEAST: <1 per 106 cells TOTAL BACTERIA: <1 per 106 cells GMO STATUS: GMO Free
