Anybody tried to compare decoction vs step mashing side by side?

Planing on brewing Czech Premium Pilsner soon. I only brewed lager 3 times with acceptable result on my last attempt. I think I know what the problems were. I did double decoction as thats the traditional method for Czech Pilsner.
Do you think it's a waste of time?

The only decoction comparison I've ever seen is by Brulosophy and they found it non-significant.

And in loads of podcasts I heard people saying it's pretty much a waste of time. If it were something I was into I'd give it one try, but if I had zero time to dick about with then based on the evidence I wouldn't bothers.

Thanks. I think I'll do the step mash. Maybe one day I'll give it a go
