Like a pillock, I defrosted all of my blackcurrants to make way for a few things in the freezer a few days ago, hoping for an order of supplies to arrive, forgetting that it was new year and a slew of bank holidays. I am now without wine yeast or campdem tablets until... Thursday, I'd say.
How big a catastrophe is it to boil my blackcurrant juice to sterilise it until I can get the yeast in, instead of using a campden tablet? I'd be gutted to have to throw away my whole blackcurrant harvest from last summer. It's only about 6kg, but still.
