Would it not just be a mexican style beer with tequila flavouring and maybe some lemon and lime?

Hmmm...

Good idea Wendy but I got a agree with carl. A 1/4 pint tequila will be stupidly strong. I hate tequila but desperado is well nice. Anyone who can come up with a good desperado ish recipe deserves knighting in my opinion.

Here's an initial idea. Desperados is a whopping 5.9% but this comes in at 5.4%. It will need to be fermented at lager temperatures, and not included in the recipe is the juice of 2 lemons and 2 limes. Bear in mind this is a 2.92 gal boil so you will need to adjust hops as neccessary!

It might be worth adding citrus, tequila aroma and beer enhancer to the cooper's mexican kit if you're a kit brewer - apparently the kit is really good, i'm considering it myself!

Anybody got any input in adding a little salt to the brew?

Just drinking a tasty desperados at the minute ( yes I know it's only 9:20 )
It's not mexican it's French.
As for adding a quarter of a pint of tequila to a beer ???
Are you mad ? That sounds like the kind of cocktail that could very quickly ruin an evening

any more thoughts? I wanna get this on in a month or two when my honey ale is gone and my pure gold clone is in the keg :)

I'm gonna be using NZ Hallertaus as they add a lime flavour...

This sounds insane, Tequila in beer? Mad. Just make the beer and use the tequila for cleaning the floor.
